DROP Program

ERJCC Institutes DROP Program for Member Safety and Increased Lifeguard Training

The ERJCC's insurance provider, The Redwoods Group, has endorsed a new safety training program that is being implemented by the ERJCC Aquatics Department.

The training activity includes a spontaneous testing of the lifeguard's response and recovery time when retrieving a silhouette of a person that has been discreetly DROPPED to the bottom of the pool. The silhouette is a weighted object simulating an adult or a child. The lifeguard will be required to respond when the object is seen at the bottom of the pool.  Click here to view a video on the DROP Program.

This training will take place during our normal hours of operations, and signage will be posted announcing the training. This training may cause minimal disruption for very brief periods.
