Deutser Art Gallery Guidelines for Exhibition
The Deutser Art Gallery of the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston is a non-profit exhibition and education space created to promote awareness, appreciation and interest in visual arts that reflects the diversity of the Jewish people. Six exhibitions are mounted each year.
Original works in all media. Acceptance of subject matter is at the discretion of the Art Committee and Evelyn Rubenstein JCC staff.
Please see below plan for details of gallery dimensions. The artist must include an introductory text panel that provides explanation for the exhibition.
Your application should include the following:
- 7-10 digital files of artwork
- A link to the artist’s website
- Links to reviews and past gallery exhibitions (optional)
Email the above to Marilyn Hassid at firstname.lastname@example.org and include your name and contact information.
The Evelyn Rubenstein JCC of Houston will insure your exhibit for any harm, destruction, theft or mutilation.
Accepted work will be scheduled for exhibition by the committee and Arts & Culture Staff. After notification, the artist must respond within one week of the date of the notification email to confirm the proposed exhibition dates. To guarantee favorable exhibition, installation and reception dates and times, confirm all the above as soon as possible with Marilyn Hassid at 713.595.8162.
THE ART COMMITTEE AND EVELYN RUBENSTEIN JCC'S STAFF RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY WORK MISREPRESENTED OR UNSUITABLY PRESENTED.
Traditionally, we request 25% of the sale price on all works displayed if designated for sale.
