IW Marks Theatre Center

The Evelyn Rubenstein JCC is over 70 years old and has been at its current location, 5601 South Braeswood, for over 40 years. More than a focal point of the Jewish community in Houston, it is a familiar landmark that welcomes all members of the community regardless of background, age, sex or religion, providing an outstanding calendar of arts and culture programs for the entire Houston community.

In 2010, The Gerald Rauch Cultural & Performing Arts Wing was dedicated through a generous gift from the Gerald Rauch Family. In 1999, through a generous gift of IW Marks, our theatre center was renamed the IW Marks Theatre Center and includes the Kaplan Theatre (proscenium theater with raked, fixed seating for 296), Joe Frank Theatre of the Arts (a black-box alternative performing space) and the adjacent Katz Lecture Hall (raked seating with desk chairs for 80).
