Don’t Miss The Tzofim
The Israeli Scouts are coming to the J. Join us for this authentic Israeli high-energy concert Monday, July 17 at 6:30 PM. The Tzofim are a Zionist and national youth movement, whose mission is dedicated to promoting positive young leadership, Jewish identity and community building while having a whole lot of fun!
The Israeli Scouts Movement was established almost 100 years ago (1919) and remains the largest "National Youth Movement" in the country.
“I went to Young Judea for a few summers as a kid, and their concerts were one of my fondest memories,” said Sara Raymon, J Camps parent. “Years later, I worked as an Assistant Teacher at the J in Austin while attending the University of Texas and was just as enthralled. Now I have a child of my own who attends Camp Bami and I can’t wait for him to experience it too.”
The Tzofim have stood as a symbol of socially conscious, dedicated and involved teen leaders, helping to build a better, stronger Israeli society.
“The Tzofim Caravan is a highlight of summer at the J. Not only do children and parents love the interactive performance, but it also teaches about social responsibility, multiculturalism and Jewish and Zionist identity,” said Rabbi Jill Levy, Director of the Bobbi and Vic Samuels Center for Jewish Living & Learning at the J.
The concert is recommended for ages five and up but anyone can come. Theatre seats are free and available on a first come, first served basis. Dinner will be available prior to or after the show from Laykie’s Gourmet Café at the J.
