J-Serve Houston is a day of community service and learning for teens across the Houston Jewish community. A team of 25 teens from across Houston has been hard at work since September planning the day for teens, grades 7-12.
When school lets out early, come spend the afternoon at the J doing service! Help out with various community service hours at the J and around the community, and help fulfill your service hour requirements.
Please check back for upcoming dates!
JCC Maccabi Games® & ArtsFest®
The JCC Maccabi Games and ArtsFest is an amazing event where thousands of Jewish teens meet, compete and have a great time, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
It's much more than just a week of sports and the arts. The energy and excitement of the JCC Maccabi Games and ArtsFest make this a unique and unforgettable experience for each athlete, artist, volunteer, coach, spectator, host family and sponsor.
J Teen Art Scene
Whether through visual art, sculpture, culinary, fashion design, photography, or music and performing arts, we're excited to celebrate what makes Houston's Jewish teen community so unique!
Teen Leadership Council
The heart of J TEENS is our Teen Leadership Council (TLC). Every teen program at the J features the guidance and leadership of the TLC. The more than 20 teens who served on the TLC also serve their schools, their synagogues and youth groups, and their BBYO chapters and region. Members of the TLC represent a crucial voice for the greater Houston teen community, working on programs that engage Jewish teens in leadership, social, athletic, cultural, service-oriented, and intellectual experiences.
From September through May, the TLC meets monthly, engaging in leadership activities, planning programs, developing marketing strategies, and meeting with community leaders and organizations. Through their hard work and dedication, members of the TLC earn a minimum of 50 community service hours.
