Shabbatify brings together elementary school families for meaningful and fun-filled Shabbat and Sunday afternoons, with activities for kids and parents to enjoy both as a family and separately.  

Gymnastics Party for Mishpacha & Me and Shabbatify

Sunday, July 30 | 3:00 PM-5:00 PM

For families w/kids age 0-10
Free & open to the public 

Ages 0-5: 3:00 PM-4:00 PM 
Ages 6-10: 4:00 PM-5:00 PM

Kids of all ages are invited to twist, jump and tumble at this party co-hosted by Mishpacha & Me and Shabbatify. There will be structured playtime, and free play as well, with a section of the gym for each of the two age groups. Snacks will be available in the party room the whole time.

Free babysitting will not be provided at this event.

Stretch & Play

Saturday, Aug 5 | 3:00 PM-5:00 PM

For families w/kids in gr K-5
FREE & open to the public

  • Families will practice pre-run stretches together in the Fitness Center.
  • Kids will get to play on the new Bertha Alyce playground.
  • Parents will watch the short film "Joe's Violin."
  • The whole family will join together for Havdalah to end the event. 

Free babysitting will be provided at this event.


Shabbatify Goes to the Contemporary Arts Museum

Sunday, Aug 13 | 1:00 PM-3:00 PM
We will tour two exhibits: "A Better Yesterday" and "Atlas, Plural, Monumental." We will complete a simple kite-making workshop in conjunction with the second exhibit. 

$4 per person | FREE for ages 4 & under

Meet Our Family Outreach Specialist
Rachel Teichman

Rachel TeichmanRachel Teichman has a BA from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from San Diego State University. She has spent much of her career in the arts and writing fields, and all of her volunteer work has involved Jewish and educational organizations.

She moved to Houston two years ago, and has been an active member of the Mishpacha & Me committee. A mother of two, she has been enjoying exploring Texas with her family, and is excited about launching Shabbatify! Please feel free to contact her with with any comments or suggestions.
