Shabbatify brings together elementary school families for meaningful and fun-filled Shabbat and Sunday afternoons, with activities for kids and parents to enjoy both as a family and separately.

The whole family will volunteer at the Houston Food Bank Warehouse. To participate, you will need to register each person who will be coming to volunteer with us. You can log in or create a profile here to be added to our Houston Food Bank Volunteer group.
Shabbatify Hanukkah Party
Saturday, Dec 24 | 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM
Celebrate the first night of Hanukkah with Shabbatify! We will sing songs and light the candles with Seven Acres residents. Then we will have our own party complete with dreidel playing and other games, as well as filling our own jelly donuts!
This is an event for the whole family. Babysitting will not be provided.
The J Goes to the Children's Museum for Hanukkah

Join in the fun at a Hanukkah Workshop at the Ft. Bend Children's Discovery Center. Do craft projects and spin the dreidel. Regular museum rates apply.
Wednesday, Dec 28 | 1:00 PM
See the J's live performance of the play Hershel & the Hanukkah Goblins for free (with paid Children's Museum admission). Regular museum rates apply.
Thursday, Dec 29
Join in the fun at a Hanukkah Workshop at the Children's Museum of Houston. Do craft projects, spin the dreidel, and enjoy free museum entry from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM.

Families will participate in programs and activities at Bayou Bend's African-American Heritage Family Day. FREE.
Saturday, Jan 21
Attend Camp Young Judaea at the J! Kids will make a map of Israel out of ice cream, while parents learn about current Israel events. FREE.
Saturday, Feb 11
Greene Family Camp comes to you! Kids and their parents will do fun Tu B’Shvat projects. And parents will get some Happy Hour time to themselves as well! FREE.
Sunday, Feb 26
Families will volunteer at the new Aishel House. Everyone will make help cook a meal and deliver it to patients living at this wonderful facility. FREE.

Meet Our Family Outreach Specialist
Rachel Teichman has a BA from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from San Diego State University. She has spent much of her career in the arts and writing fields, and all of her volunteer work has involved Jewish and educational organizations.
She moved to Houston two years ago, and has been an active member of the Mishpacha & Me committee. A mother of two, she has been enjoying exploring Texas with her family, and is excited about launching Shabbatify! Please feel free to contact her with with any comments or suggestions.
