Make Breakfast Bags for Seniors with Interfaith Ministries

Sunday, Feb 26 | 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
Interfaith Ministries | 3202 San Jacinto St. Houston

Families will create Breakfast Bags for Meals on Wheels seniors. Each bag will provide one week's worth of breakfasts for each recipient. These clients are people who cannot do their own cooking and do not have anyone to cook for them.

This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn about giving back, and to see how their effort can really make an impact on someone's daily life.
This project is for kids ages 6 & up, and their parents. Babysitting will not be provided for younger siblings.

Free & open to the public

Shabbatify Goes to the Movies!

Sunday, March 5 | 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
Family Film Screening with Shabbatify: "Guavas"
Part of the Houston Jewish Film Festival
For Families with Children Ages 6 and Older

Billie and her parents have moved to an apartment house in a new town. Billie’s new home is populated by a group of most peculiar types, human, animal, and puppets: Pertchik, a puppet and building superintendent, Giovanni and Yardus, the hairdresser and his assistant, and Shlihta, the dog.

Outside is a guava tree containing a treehouse and a hammock that the mayor’s assistant threatens to cut down. Billie is called to action and leads the social protest movement to save the tree.

Families will make Mishloach Manot (festive gifts for the holiday of Purim) and enjoy popcorn and other movie snacks during the film.
