JCC Maccabi Games & ArtsFest Update

The JCC Houston Maccabi Games and ArtsFest delegation is having a blast in Israel!  Our 20 participants had an amazing pre-JCC Maccabi tour around Israel and are now competing in the Games and performing in the arts this week. They are gearing up to be hosted by our sister-city Yoseftal Dado for Shabbos and then medal rounds take place Sunday.  After competition, the teens will travel south and tour Israel with 1200 of their JCC Maccabi peers.

Great news in sport competitions:

• Our volleyball team is going for the GOLD on Sunday vs Team Israel!  Everyone is coming out to the games and the teens are soaking in the love.  They can’t wait to compete for the gold and everyone has been talking about Houston vs Israel!
   
• Andrew Warden on the boy soccer team has been an all-star goalie throughout the tournament.  He is on the mixed team of Houston/Denver/Detroit and they are going for the GOLD on Sunday as well!
   
• The boy basketball players on a mixed team with Atlanta won their game today and we are waiting to hear more great results from them.
   
• The girl soccer players paired on a mixed team, Houston/Orange County/Denver/Memphis, are doing well and are still in the running.
   
• Our tennis players and dancer are having a great time and all is well with them!
