Shabbatify Passover Event
Houston, TX – Evelyn Rubenstein JCC of Houston offers Shabbatify, a new monthly program at the J which brings families with children in grades K-5 together for meaningful and fun-filled Shabbat experiences. Parents and their children can join in the third free event on April 2 to celebrate Passover together at the J.
Everyone will start out doing some fun Family Passover Yoga. Then parents will take part in a Katz Coffee tasting. Kids will have their own special time during free play at the J’s fantastic Gymnastics facility. Everyone will meet back up to start the new week together with a brief Havdalah service.
Shabbatify is a new program offering families the opportunity to share meaningful Jewish experiences together on Shabbat. From recreational and creative activities, to learning about holidays and spirituality, there will be something for everyone.
“Parents really appreciate that there is a now a group especially for families with elementary aged kids, who are getting to have all kinds of fun with their families on Shabbat,” said Rachel Teichman, Family Outreach Program Specialist of the Bobbi and Vic Samuels Center for Jewish Living & Learning.
Shabbatify grew out of the J’s already established Mishpacha & Me group for families with children ages 0-5. This new program is literally growing with the local Jewish community, and families are already very glad it is here. Shabbatify events will occur monthly, focusing on current holidays, and will always offer activities for parents and children to enjoy together and on their own.
