Speading Cheer at Seven Acres
Houston, TX – Evelyn Rubenstein JCC of Houston invites you to spread some Hanukkah love to residents at Seven Acres on Saturday, December 24 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Whether your own grandparents live in Houston or not, you know you can always find someone’s grandparents at Seven Acres. Residents are eager to see the smiling faces of children, especially around Jewish holidays. That is why this year the J’s monthly Shabbatify program is happy to bring elementary school families to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah at Seven Acres.
Families will sing, light the first candle on the menorah and rejoice with residents at a Hanukkah party. Kids will get to roll their own beeswax candles, fill jelly donuts and even play Connect Four and checkers with chocolate gelt.
Shabbatify grew out of the J’s already established Mishpacha & Me group and offers meaningful and fun-filled Shabbat and Sunday afternoon events for elementary school families, with activities for parents and kids to enjoy both together and on their own.. Shabbatify is growing in popularity with the local Jewish community. It is funded in part by the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.
