Summer Swim Fun at Camp
The ERJCC is committed to providing all campers starting at age 3 all the way up to 2nd grade with an exceptional instructional swim experience. The ERJCC Aquatics Program is based on the principles and methods established by the American Red Cross, and all ERJCC instructors are certified by the American Red Cross. Swimmers are grouped by age and ability and learn in an age-appropriate environment.
Safety is the Top Priority For our youngest swimmers in Camp Bami and Kinder Camp, each instructor will work with a group of six children. A counselor will also be in the pool with each group, providing a 1:3 ratio of adult to child supervision at all times. In addition, there will always be at least two lifeguards on duty specifically to supervise the Kinder Camp and Camp Bami swim programs. For our older, more experienced swimmers (Gr 1+) who participate in instructional swim, the instructor to child ratio is generally 1:6, with additional supervision by our American Red Cross certified lifeguards.
Red Cross Course Information The American Red Cross Program is progressive; each skill builds on the skills mastered in the previous levels. In order to ensure quality programming, it is necessary to successfully complete each level in the progression. Essential swim and safety skills are taught in each level. Skipping or omitting levels may result in your child missing vital skills. Click here for a description of each level in progression.
