With access to our state-of-the-art indoor tennis center and certified tennis professionals teens will be able to improve their skills and compete against others of their skill level.

Performing & Visual Arts Camps

Teen PAC offers campers the opportunity to spend three weeks together as they rehearse and perform the musical production of The Little Mermaid. Adapted from Disney’s Broadway musical and the popular motion picture, the show is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance. Campers will also delve into the core elements of acting through scene and character study, as well behind-the-scenes tech work.

Weeks 6-8 | July 10-28

This camp will allow teens to stretch their acting muscles in front of a camera. Campers will learn a variety of film and TV acting techniques, with monologue work, scene work, and even commercial work. At the end of the week, parents will receive digital files for their camper’s on-camera work.

Week 4 | June 26-30

CAMP DIRECTOR: EVA DE LA CRUZ

This new one-week camp will help teens grow in their singing confidence while getting valuable performing experience. Teens will receive coaching on their stage presence, lyric interpretation, vocal technique and movement. Each camper will work on their own solo piece as well as duets and group numbers. The week will culminate in a cabaret-style performance for families and friends.

In this introduction to all things sewing, campers will create wearable art and soft sculpture with new and recycled fabrics! They will get creative with their designs while learning both hand and machine techniques. This camp also includes a unit on jewelry making.

In this special camp that combines engineering and creative arts, campers will conceive, design and build a miniature art car from new and recycled materials!

Week 3 | June 19-23

This week-long camp will allow teens to dive into new dance techniques, challenging themselves to work individually and as a group toward the goal of being a more well-rounded dancer. With sessions in ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop and more, teens will be challenged in a positive and supportive way. Campers will end the week with a showcase for families and friends.

Ariel is a fast-growing artform that combines strength and grace. Teens will travel daily to The Artz to learn techniques in ariel and circus training including fabrics, lycra, and trapeze. Brave new heights and build self-confidence with this new camp.

In the fourth largest city in America, there is always something to do! This summer at the J, we are exploring the best Houston has to offer. Enjoy daily field trips to water parks, arcades, art studios, and more! Something new every day.

Art is all around us. During Teen Art Hop, travel around the city of Houston and create your one-of-a-kind masterpiece at different craft studios. Teens will also visit local art institutes and museums.

Get gourmet with the J! Teen Culinary Creations campers will cook in the new Jacobs Cramer Family Culinary Studio. Teens will get to work on their kitchen skills, creativity, and team building.

This camp gives teens a chance to earn community service hours while making a difference in their community. Travel to a new non-profit organization every day and participate in projects with local organizations.

Week 10 | July 31-August 4

CAMP DIRECTOR: BARRIE SKALSKY

Join us this summer for horseback riding camp in the heart of Houston! Campers will learn valuable skills in horsemanship, animal husbandry, arts and crafts, and more! Every day of camp, riders will learn new horsemanship skills, have the opportunity to get up close and personal with farrier, vet and other equine practitioners’ demonstrations, and of course, have fun! We have a covered arena to get out of the sun or rain, plus an air-conditioned lounge and restroom.
