Painting on Silk
Thursday, June 20 | 7:00-9:30 PM
Instructor: Inga Strause-Godejord
In this session you will learn the basic approaches to silk painting and will create delicate and dynamic patterns of color and texture on your silks. Leave with a small frame-able landscape based silk painting. Unlike some types of dyes, those provided in class can be set with a regular household iron, making this easier and much safer method for these techniques.
About the Instructor
Inga Strause Godejord graduated from the Applied Art College, Design Department (1989) and received her Bachelor's degree in painting from the Riga Academy of Arts (1995).
Having lived in Norway, Canada and the US for many productive years, she now lives in Houston, working in her home studio. In Inga's own words: "I have been painting with dyes on silk for many years, and can't wait to get to my studio each day. Working with silk dyes gives me the freedom to create paintings that are vivid in color and sophisticated in detail."
Get creative, bring your friends and unwind.
