As some of you may remember, we were days away from putting on our first Oy Vey! 5k Family Fun Run at Godwin Park in Meyerland when Hurricane Harvey hit our city last year. Obviously, the J, the City of Houston and especially the community of Meyerland were in no position to even consider hosting such an event at that time.
While we made some attempts to reschedule the event, we never felt confident about the timing. Nearly a year later, our community is coming back to life, and it's the perfect time to bring this event back to life also!
With so many homes being remodeled along with all the new construction in Meyerland, including the beginnings of the brand new Kolter Elementary, it's time to showcase our wonderful community.
We hope that the Oy Vey! 5K will provide a way to show the City of Houston that the community of Meyerland is still a viable one with a positive future.
So mark your calendar, round up your friends and neighbors and make plans to participate in the Fun Run. Registration is now open!
