Our Camp Jobs

Camp Staff

J Camps have many job opportunities for applicants to select from. Some of those include traditional day camps, such as Bertha Alyce Early Childhood Camp, Kinder Camp and Camp Kaleidoscope. Other camps include Sports, Gymnastics, Tennis, Aquatics, Technology Camps and more.

Counselors are responsible for groups of 15 to 20 children on a daily basis. Their main roles include managing children's behavior as well as acting as a positive role model and mentor.

Counselors also need to model constructive participation in all daily activities as well as work closely with the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Directors to ensure the safety of all children. Counselors must have completed 10th grade and participate in staff training prior to the start of camp.

Junior Counselor Entering Junior or Senior year in high school in the fall.
Senior Counselor High School Graduate, College student or older as of May.

Camp Specialists

J Camps also look for a number of Specialists to lend their talent and expertise to our camp programs. Specialists work in a variety of different areas of camp, including art, Judaics, sports, music and dance. Specialists must have experience teaching in their specialty area.

Leaders in Training Program

Our Leaders in Training (LIT) Program has all the things you loved about being a camper while building a foundation as a counselor for the future. This is a unique opportunity to develop, practice and hone your leadership skills through hands-on activities and discussions about types of leadership, communication and team-building.

At the end of the session you will leave with a recommendation for your next job (whether it is with us, another camp, or an entirely different kind of work), a certificate of completion (looks great on your college application), and 35 community service hours! LITs must complete the Day Camp Application.
