Summer Fun at the J Parent Updates

Hello SUMMER FUN at the J Families,
 
We are thrilled to share with you that we will begin our SUMMER FUN at the J program this Monday, June 15! We are so excited to see those of you who are registered for our first week of SUMMER FUN!
 
As we continue to prepare for next week, we have a few things we would like to share with you.
 
1. SUMMER FUN at the J will run from 9:00AM – 3:30PM. Carpool drop off will be from 8:30AM – 9:00AM and pick up will be from 3:30PM – 4:00PM. AM Care and PM Care (7AM – 6PM) we hope to make available in July.

2. Reminder about our upcoming Zoom Calls: These sessions will include a chance to meet some of the staff your children will be working with and understand in more detail what their daily schedule will look like. There will be also be time for Q&A.

  • Rising Kinder: TODAY - Tuesday, June 9 at 6PM
  • Rising 1st and 2nd Grade: Wednesday, June 10 at 6PM
  • Rising 3rd – 5th Grade (this includes specialty weeks): Thursday, June 11 at 6PM

3. Our specific health and safety protocols for our SUMMER FUN at the J program can be found here , a few important reminders:

  • Daily Health Screening: Prior to being allowed entry into any J facility, parents on behalf of children and all adults including staff must present confirmation of completion of a daily Health Screening Form which includes a temperature check.  The health screen questions can be found here. If the answer to any question is “yes” you are asked to remain home.
  • Masks: All staff will be required to wear a mask, following the J guidelines, inside the building, during carpool drop off/pick up, entry and exit of the building. The only exception is outside for swim or outside for a long period of time where social distancing can occur. While children are not required to wear masks or any type of personal protective equipment, we will support families who choose to send their children to the program with protective measures. We will not be able to assist children in taking off or putting on any protective equipment nor be able to manage keeping up with those items.
  • Carpool Procedures: Carpool will be the only form of drop off and pick up for SUMMER FUN at the J this year. We ask parents to please stay in their car and not exit their vehicle at any time. We ask that parents please be prepared to show their completed health screen on their phone when they pull in the carpool line. If you have multiple children attending SUMMER FUN at the J, you will need to drop them each in their respective locations based on where the program is being housed – Bertha Alyce School, Weingarten Building front entrance, Merfish Teen Center. For pick in the afternoons you will need to either have your carpool tag with number or your ID and be listed on the authorized pick up list for each child you are picking up.
  • Late Drop Off, Early Pick Up: In the event you need to pick up or drop  off your child outside of designated carpool times, please notify us ahead of time by emailing Sasha Akatkin at sakatkin@erjcchouston.org. We ask that before you enter the building to please complete the Health Screen and plan to wear a face covering. Once you arrive we will ask that you remain at the front desk/entrance area and a staff member will bring your child to you.

We are so excited to welcome your children back to the J for SUMMER FUN. We thank you for trusting us with your children and assure you we will do our very best to ensure they have a safe, fun and memorable summer.

Hello 2020 Summer Fun at the J Families,

It's almost time to start our SUMMER FUN!  We are so excited to have you on board and are looking forward to creating an awesome summer experience.  As we continue our preparations, we will be sending out regular emails to keep you updated and gather necessary information about our participants.  To that end, please see below some information about our forms and parent informational sessions.
 
FORMS 
Please return all forms by Monday, June 8 to Sasha Akatkin at sakatkin@erjcchouston.org. We ask you to do your best to complete these forms on time and to share as much information about your child as you can.  The more we know about your child, the better experience we can provide.

3.       Immunization Form (you may use the attached form or the form provided by your doctor)
4.       A copy of both sides of your insurance card

Parent Informational Sessions: Please make your calendars and virtually join us!
General Informational Sessions: This session will provide a general overview of what to expect from SUMMER FUN at the J including meeting our SUMMER FUN at the J leadership team, program overview, review of health and safety protocols and Q&A.

•         Option 1: Wednesday, June 3 at 6PM
•         Option 2: Thursday, June 4 at Noon
 
Program Specific Informational Sessions:  These sessions will include a chance to meet some of the staff your children will be working with and understand in more detail what their daily schedule will look like. There will be also be time for Q&A.
