Teen Ambassador Program

Become a J Teen Ambassador!
Help Shape the Future of Teen Programs at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC and Earn Community Service Hours

The J Teen Ambassador Program is designed so that existing and future teen program at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC can be shaped by teens themselves. We want teens to have their voices heard. Teen feedback is critical to the ongoing success of each one of our teen programs.

What does it mean to be a J Teen Ambassador?

J Teen Ambassadors will volunteer their time to contribute ideas and feedback to program areas that are of specific interest to them.  They will have the opportunity to improve upon existing programs and influence programs under development.  Teen feedback may be obtained through meetings, group discussions, or surveys. Volunteer/service hours will be given based upon level of participation.

There are many areas of programming where J Teen Ambassadors can contribute including but not limited to: the new fitness and aquatics center, the new culinary studio, arts and culture, inclusivity/ diversity, and more.

How to Become a J Teen Ambassador

Registration for the J Teen Ambassador program is open to teens in grades 8-12. Teens will select areas of interest on the registration form and will then be contacted by Barrie Skalsky to discuss current opportunities in that area and service hours that can be obtained.

Current J Teen Ambassador Opportunities

Fitness

Are you passionate about fitness and wellness? A new fitness center is being built as part of our building renovations. This is a perfect time for teens to share their thoughts on how to make this center and its program offerings most appealing to them.

Culinary

Do you love cooking and want to help shape programming for the new J culinary studio? J Teen Ambassadors will have the opportunity to discuss potential new programs and other ways for teens to get involved with our brand-new culinary studio.

Teen Marketing

Help us make J-Teen social media the best it can be. Create posts, tell us who to follow, and even be featured on the pages.

Diversity & Inclusion

Our teen community is made up of people with all types of identities, but we know we can always do better in creating an inclusive environment. Share your ideas and perspectives to help us make the J a safe space for all.

Volunteer/Mitzvah Projects

Love to volunteer? Need hours for school? Be a part of the volunteer and mitzvah project group and be the first ones we call when volunteers are needed. There are opportunities all over the agency. Plus, help us come up with ideas for future opportunities.

Arts & Culture

Teens interested in visual arts, film, theater, and literature can help the J promote and create arts and culture events for the community's' teens. No experience in any of these fields is required!
