Successful filmmaker Antoine Lisner returns to Algiers with his son to screen a feature-length film about his childhood leading up to the Algerian war of independence. As he wanders the city, bittersweet memories of a lost world flood back—the daily life of his Sephardic family, his lively and eclectic neighborhood, his crush on Josette and his early introduction to the magic of cinema. Based on the life of director Alexandre Arcady, we are transported back to an era when multiculturalism flourished in North Africa.
