As Pope Pius XII, former Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli, Vatican Secretary of State and no friend of the Jews, made deals with Hitler and Mussolini; he stayed silent about the Jews’ plight. Nevertheless, some consider him a saint who actually hid and protected Jews; others a sinner who did nothing. This documentary examines the history of his reign during the Nazi era and what could have been done to stop the murder of the six million. What is the truth? Recently, the Vatican opened its Archives regarding Pius XII’s reign so perhaps the truth will soon be revealed.
