In 1957 Fritz Bauer, a German-Jewish prosecutor of former Nazis in the newly democratic German government, is presented with information regarding the whereabouts of Adolph Eichmann.

He cannot bring the information to Interpol or German officialdom for fear of alerting Eichmann. At the risk of being charged for treason, Bauer contacts the Mossad.

The film, a biopic which has been compared to Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies, earned Germany’s top prizes for best film, director, screenplay, supporting actor, and set design.
