Jewish Teen Philanthropy Initiative (JTPI) aims to inspire a diverse group of Jewish high school students to make a real difference in the greater Houston Jewish Community. Participants will raise and allocate $10,000 to address real community issues through a consensus building and project-based learning model. Teens will meet monthly to research and explore organizations and causes they wish to support, learn about the process of grant making, hear from local philanthropists, and explore their own Jewish values.
*Must be entering 9–12 grade to apply.
*Participants will receive a minimum of 35 leadership and service hours.
*There will be a $180 participation fee per student.
We are excited to receive your application to participate in the 2020-2021 cohort of the Jewish Teen Philanthropy Initiative (JTPI). Since you cannot save your progress and return to the application, we recommend writing your answers in a Word document and then copying and pasting them into the application when you are finished. Application Deadline: Please submit applications, no later than Friday, October 30. We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible, spots are limited and will be prioritized based on submission date. Upon review of your written applications, you will be asked to participate in a 30-minute virtual or in person individual interview.
