Explore the Creative Process with Houstonís Own
Thursday, June 14, 2018

Houston, TX – Many of us have something we’ve always wanted to learn ---to paint, dance, or play an instrument, but few know where to begin. Workshops allow you to kickstart your creativity or learn a specialized skill in a convenient shorter format. Taught by professional artists, workshops are available for students at all levels of experience and are kept small to ensure that individual attention can be given to everyone. Experienced and novice artists, young and old, will join us for our Exploring the Artistic Process with Houston’s Own workshop series at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC.

Have a Splash with Ellen Orseck on Thursday, June 21 from 7:00 PM-9:30 PM will explore the basics of watercolor in this two and half-hour workshop. Learn how to control color, paint with three different techniques and practice make making with a watercolor brush. “Have a blast while painting and go home with your own creative piece of art,” stated Maxine Silberstein Adult Visual Arts Coordinator. Houston-based Ellen Orseck earned her Master’s Degree in Museum Education at George Washington University. Her post graduate education also included four years at The Glassell School of Art.
