|Yocheved Stock to Lead Quilling Workshop|
|Friday, August 2, 2019|
Houston, TX – Aspiring artists can get creative in a fascinating Quilling Workshop led by instructor Yocheved Stock Thursday, August 15 from 7:00 PM-9:30 PM at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston (the J).
”Quilling is a creative art that involves strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glued to create colorful designs with the help of quilling tools,” explained Stock. “The strips of paper are rolled and pinched into different shapes to create 3D art that can be used for greeting cards or as framed art.”
In this workshop participants will receive a quilling kit with various tools and strips of paper to use and to keep. Stock will give an easy to follow demonstration, and students will complete their very own quilling masterpiece. No art experience is necessary.
Stock is a Houston Judaic Artist and art teacher. She was the Art Director at Beren Academy and currently teaches art privately.
The Quilling Workshop is part of the J’s “Exploring the Artistic Process with Houston’s Own” workshop series featuring experienced and novice artists who teach drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, watercolor and beading and wire wrapping. The classes are open to all members of the community. The workshop fee is $40 and includes supplies.
