|Adult Visual Arts Showcase Leads into Spring Classes|
|Tuesday, March 3, 2020|
The Adult Visual Arts program at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston (the J) will host a reception on Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 PM. The exhibit will feature the artwork of the J’s adult drawing, painting and ceramic students in addition to works by the Medallion Assisted Living Residence and Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services. The reception will take place in the lobby of the Deutser Art Gallery where guests can meet the artists and instructors who will be available to answer questions about the upcoming session of visual art classes.
Instructors for the J’s classes include Gerry Melot, advanced drawing; Susan Wingfield, drawing/painting; Stacy Kuropata, ceramics; Ruthi Drori-Mitelman, drawing/painting/ceramics; and Passion Trenkelbach, ceramics.
The spring session of adult visual arts classes begins Monday, March 23. Classes are available during the day and evening and are the perfect opportunity to learn new skills. Spaces are available in painting, drawing and ceramics hand building and wheel throwing classes.
“Do you have an interest in learning how to paint or create ceramic pieces? It is time to find your artistic side today! Classes are for students who know little or nothing about drawing or painting or those who want a refresher class,” stated Maxine Silberstein, program coordinator of adult visual arts.
The Adult Visual Arts Showcase Reception is free and open to the community. Spring class registration is available at erjcchouston.org/register.
The reception is sponsored by The Medallion Assisted Living Residence and Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services.
