Pickleball has been identified as one of the fastest growing sports in America. Whether you are a skilled player or just starting out, you can easily join the fun of Pickleball. No equipment? No problem! We have paddles available upon request. Meet new people, have a lot of fun and get in a great workout!


Pickle ball returns to the J on Sundays! We will be offering three time slots on three courts that are spaced apart, for a max of 12 people per time slot. Times are as follows. The schedule allows for 15 minute breaks in between sessions for cleaning.

  • 9:00 AM-10:00 AM
  • 10:15 AM-11:15 AM
  • 11:30 AM-12:30 PM

All members that wish to play will need to make a reservation for a court by calling the Fitness Desk at 713.551.7211. Reservations will begin on Fridays at 8:00 AM before the weekend. All members must make their own reservations and only members are allowed to play.

About Pickleball

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles to hit a wiffle ball over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis with a few modifications.

Pickleball was invented in the mid-1960s as a children's backyard pastime but quickly became popular among adults as a fun game for players of all levels.
