TENNIS BONIUK FAMILY INDOOR TENNIS CENTER
CAMP DIRECTOR: ERIK KISER
Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where campers can develop their tennis skills, build confidence and forge lasting friendships. With a focus on individual improvement and team spirit, we strive to create a positive and memorable tennis camp experience for everyone involved. Campers are welcome to bring their rackets, or one can be provided for them.

LOCATION: MAIN J CAMPUS & GUS WORTHAM GOLF COURSE
INSTRUCTOR: IKE ELIASON
Campers will travel to Gus Wortham Golf Course to work with Strike Golf Academy.  Campers will learn the fundamentals of full swing, chipping, pitching, putting, rules and etiquette. Whether they are brand new to the world of golf or ready to take their skills to the next level, campers will have a great time!  Campers are welcome to bring their clubs, or they can be provided for them. This camp will be at an outdoor golf course, and campers will travel by bus each day.

Teen Ninja Warrior is designed for adventurous teens who want to test their strength, agility and determination! Inspired by the popular “Ninja Warrior” competitions, this camp offers a fun and challenging experience, where participants will push their physical and mental limits. Could you be the next American Ninja Warrior? Campers will travel by bus each day to Iron Sports.

INSTRUCTOR: HDFC YOUTH PROGRAMS COACHES

This exciting soccer camp, in partnership with the Houston Dynamo FC, is designed just for middle schoolers! Campers will learn the fundamentals of soccer through fun games, skill-building drills and team challenges. The Dynamo coaches make every session engaging, helping campers boost coordination, teamwork, and confidence on and off the field. By the end of the week, campers will showcase their new moves in mini-games and scrimmages, and who knows, you may even meet a Dynamo or Dash player. This camp will be at an outdoor facility, and campers will travel by bus each day.

LOCATION: Pickleball Country Club
INSTRUCTOR: Coaches from Pickleball Country Club
Serve up some summer fun! Pickleball is a paddle sport that mixes tennis, badminton and ping-pong, using a paddle and a lightweight plastic ball. It’s easy for beginners to pick up but also fast-paced and challenging for more experienced players. Campers will enjoy games, skill building drills and friendly competitions. Equipment will be provided, or campers can bring their own. This camp will be at an indoor facility, and campers will travel by bus each day.

Spike, serve and set your way to a week of volleyball fun! Beginners will master the basics like bumping, setting and serving while more advanced players focus on strength, conditioning and fine tuning their skills. Through drills and friendly games, campers will build confidence, improve their technique and learn the fundamentals of the game. Supply note – all campers will need knee pads for this camp.

Join the fun with our Trampoline Summer Camp! Learn how to jump, flip and FLY with our state-of-the-art trampoline facility and HGC’s trampoline and tumbling head coach! We will utilize all three TnT apparatuses: trampoline, rod floor and double mini trampoline, from learning the basics to more advanced skills and incorporate active games into the camp. Campers also have swimming time each day in our new J pools. Catch you on the other side!

Performing & Visual Arts Camps

LOCATION: MAIN J CAMPUS
INSTRUCTOR: EVA DE LA CRUZ
Teen PAC offers campers the opportunity to spend three weeks together rehearsing and performing a musical production on the Kaplan Theatre stage. Campers will also delve into the core elements of acting through scene and character study and behind-the-scenes tech work. This summer, campers will embark on an epic adventure of self-discovery as they rehearse and perform Frozen JR.!
Supply note – all campers will need black jazz shoes for this camp
Camp performances will take place on July 30 and 31.

Weeks 6 – 8 | July 13 – 31

CAMP INSTRUCTOR: RICORNEL PRODUCTIONS
Lights, camera, action! In this fast-paced camp, teens will discover how to translate their ideas from the page to the screen by learning storytelling techniques, screenwriting, directing, camera operation, sound recording and editing. Campers will also learn the basics of filmmaking and team up to create their very own short films.

Week 9 | August 3 – 7

INSTRUCTOR: HANNAH LOVITT
This week-long camp allows teens to create a short play! Campers will discover what goes into writing, directing, and producing a play. Teens will then team up to produce their 10-minute play, even adding props and costumes to the final product. The week culminates in a short play festival for families and friends.

Week 2 | June 15 – 19

This week-long camp will allow teens to explore new dance techniques, encouraging them to work both individually and as a group toward the goal of becoming more well-rounded dancers. With sessions in ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop and more, teens will be challenged in a positive and supportive way. Campers will end the week with a showcase for families and friends.

Campers will design and create wearable works for art while exploring a variety of jewelry-making techniques. Using beads, wire, fabric and other creative materials, campers will learn how to plan, assemble and finish their own unique pieces. Along the way, they will gain an understanding of patterns, texture and color while developing fine motor skills and attention to detail.

Campers will build their drawing skills while exploring a variety of styles and techniques. Each day we will introduce a new approach, from realistic shading and perspective to cartooning, optical illusions and expressive design. By the end of the week, campers will have projects that demonstrate both technical growth and creative exploration.

INSTRUCTOR: THE ARTZ TEAM
Aerial is a fast-growing art form that combines strength and grace. Teens will travel daily to The Artz to learn techniques in aerial and circus training, including fabrics, lyra and trapeze. Brave new heights and build self-confidence with this new camp. Campers will travel by bus each day to The Artz.

Coding with Micro:bit empowers campers to become inventors and problem solvers. Using the MakeCode platform participants will program their Micro:bit device. Join Teen Coding to think systematically, tackle challenges and dream up innovative solutions. This camp does not swim.

In the fourth-largest city in America, there is always something to do! This summer at the J, we are exploring the best Houston has to offer. Enjoy daily field trips to water parks, arcades, art studios and more! There is something new every day. Specific trip locations will be sent out the Tuesday before each camp week.

Pack your swimsuit for a week of fun in the sun! Take daily trips to different water attractions around Houston. New this summer is a special late-night trip on Thursday, July 2!

In culinary camp, teens will work on their kitchen skills, creativity, and team building while receiving hands-on instruction in making (and tasting) delicious recipes. Lunch is included and prepared by each camper. In week 9, campers will take a bus trip for a unique culinary experience.
All recipes will be kosher, and allergies can be accommodated. Campers are required to wear closed-toe shoes and have long hair pulled back.

Put your mind to the test with Game On! This new camp features an award-winning selection of mind and strategy games from all over the world where campers will learn a vast array of skills, such as logic and reasoning, leadership and effective communication. This camp does not swim.

Week 5 | July 6 – 10

LOCATION: MAIN J CAMPUS & ALL OVER HOUSTON
This camp gives teens a chance to earn community service hours while making a difference in their community. Campers will travel by bus to a new non-profit organization every day, participate in hands-on projects and learn about need-based giving. Specific volunteer locations will be sent out the Tuesday before each camp week.

3D Printing harnesses campers’ imaginations to bring art and science to life. The lessons use 3Doodler pens to take important STEAM concepts off the page while making space to tinker and make the designs their own. This camp does not swim.
