In this course, we will open the vaults of the South Texas Jewish Archives to explore the lives of Jewish families who shaped Houston and South Texas. From the merchants of Galveston and the philanthropists of Houston to Holocaust refugees and local synagogue founders, see how memory becomes history. Each week will examine digitized materials from the archives and uncover the meaning hidden in everyday documents. Participants are also invited to share their own family stories as we connect our past to the present.
