This sweet coming-of-age drama portrays a single mother and her 12-year-old son who recently immigrated to Israel from Ukraine. The son, Pinchas, tries to fit in and starts studying for his bar mitzvah with their religious neighbor, a Chabadnik named Shimon. The mother, Tamara, develops her own fraught relationship with Shimon… Can the triangle survive and will everyone find the love they deserve? This touching portrayal of immigrant life in Israel was awarded Best Screenplay at the Jerusalem Film Festival (2021).
