Refund Policy

The Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston reserves the right to cancel any class, activity, or group in which case a full refund will be made.

In the event of withdrawal BEFORE the first meeting of a class, activity or group a full refund will be made. The refund may be provided as a check or credit card return (same as original payment method), or may be provided as a credit to a member’s account for a future program.

Refunds will not be made once a program or activity has begun. Any refunds will first be applied to any outstanding balance, including membership, when applicable.

Summer Camp

Refunds, minus the deposit, will be made when withdrawal is completed prior to the start of the camp session. Camp deposits are not refundable for any reason.

Bertha Alyce Early Childhood School

Registration fees and deposits are non-refundable. The BAS school year runs until the end of May. There are no allowances made for absences or school holidays. Withdrawals during the school year will only be accepted due to changes in personal circumstances such as moving out of the city. Families understand they are still responsible for the tuition for the remaining contract year unless the child’s spot is filled. Withdrawal requests must be written and sent before the 1st day of the month in order to be released from your contract the last day of the month IF the spot has been filled the following month (e.g. notice given on Nov. 30 results in the child’s last day on Dec. 31 IF the spot has been filled with a new child per Jan. 1). Only after express approval by the ECE directors will the drop be acknowledged as acceptable. It is also your responsibility to notify the J Membership Department if you plan to cancel your J Family Membership.
