We deliver nutritious weekday meals and friendly visits to homebound seniors in Southwest Houston. Each meal provides 1/3 of the recommended daily nutrition needs and is provided at no cost to participants. We provide these services thanks to government grants, primarily those funded by the Older Americans Act, and through private contributions. Kosher meals are prepared by Laykie’s Cafe under supervision by the Houston Kashruth Association. Frozen kosher weekend meals may additionally be provided as funding allows.
WHO QUALIFIES
60 years or older
Primarily homebound (home during the day)
Have difficulty with meal preparation
Reside in one of our 13 zip codes in Southwest Harris County: 77005, 77006, 77025, 77030, 77031, 77035, 77045, 77071, 77074, 77081, 77085, 77096, 77401

We are seeking volunteer drivers Mondays-Fridays from 10:15AM-12PM. Not available weekly? Join us as a substitute driver! Fill out our interest form here to get started.
Already a volunteer? Click here to sign up to be substitute driver any weekday.
You can also volunteer at home! Make birthday cards for our clients and drop them off at the front desk of the J or send them to us via the mail, attn J Meals on Wheels.
