Long estranged from her father, an esteemed Russian-Israeli portrait painter, filmmaker Margarita Linton embarks on a documentary as an attempt to reconnect with him. As work on the film develops, she interviews other family members but meeting the man behind the portraits—and understanding his years of neglect—is her real challenge. Despite his broken promises and failure to reciprocate her interest, Margarita remains determined to make meaning of the void and comes up with an inspired and creative solution to his absence.
