Join us for our third event in this series: Cy Twombly Gallery at the Menil Collection.
Parents and their non-walking babies are invited to come together as an infant-parent-community, Kehila, and explore the exhibition with babies in a carrier or a stroller. This relaxed conversational tour is extremely accommodating to babies’ and parents’ needs. Come meet other parents with infants and enjoy exploring interesting universal topics, while being attentive to your baby’s needs.
Cy Twombly is an abstract expressionist artist who created large scale works of art for over 50 years. His works are rooted in poetry and mythology and include inspiration from romantic landscapes from Italy, where he resided most of his adult life.
The Cy Twombly Gallery—the only permanent retrospective exhibition of Cy Twombly’s (1928–2011) work—holds five decades of his paintings and sculptures. The artist selected the artworks and arranged the galleries, wanting each to have a shared “emotional and atmospheric” quality.
Program is free and will be led by Mayrav Fisher, the J’s Family Engagement coordinator, who has worked at top Art museums including the Guggenheim, Whitney and MFAH, specializing in art museum engagement. Registration required as spaces are limited
